Has Bush Declared War on Iran and Syria?

I have to say this was my initial reaction to The Decider's big "New Way Forward" speech on Wednesday. The only thing new is that he declared war on Iran and Syria. Then we immediately attack an Iranian consulate in Iraq and take Iranian citizens captive. In most circles that alone is considered an act of war as foreign consulates are regarded as sovereign under all accepted international conventions. But since when have laws, or convention or constitutions meant anything to GWB? We need an intervention.

Washington intelligence, military and foreign policy circles are abuzz today with speculation that the President, yesterday or in recent days, sent a secret Executive Order to the Secretary of Defense and to the Director of the CIA to launch military operations against Syria and Iran.

The President may have started a new secret, informal war against Syria and Iran without the consent of Congress or any broad discussion with the country.
