Here Kitty, Kitty

For the next six weekends Tulsa Zoo will have two tiger cubs (one white, one yellow) on exhibit. They'll be next to our Siberian tigers in the lion enclosure. They are super cute - basically giant kittens - but just keep in mind the white male will eventually weight around 400 lbs and the yellow female will be around 250 lbs. The female is about a month older, so she is bigger right now, but he's catching up really fast. It's actually amazing how quickly they have grown during the six weeks we've had them.

The cubs were seized by the US Fish & Wildlife Service (along with two elderly clouded leopards -- one of the most endangered species of big cats in the world) back in August. They were being illegally traded across state lines. Tulsa Zoo has an agreement to care for animals seized in this area until a suitable home can be found. If all goes well, these animals will go to Zoo New England in December or January.
