The Big One
You probably know tomorrow is the Ides of March - the day when Julius Caesar should have just stayed in bed. The day has had a negative association ever since - at least in the Western world. In Japan, March 15 is the day of the Hounen Matsuri Festival in the city of Komaki. The 2000-year-old springtime festival is meant to bring a bountiful harvest and luck and prosperity all year long. Festivities include lots of sake, phallus rubbing and the parade of the giant, 1000 lb. wooden penis. Sounds like a gay old time! via Oh La La.
