Nightmare Of You

I'm liking the sound of Nightmare Of You. Arjan posted their single "I Want To Be Buried In Your Backyard" a few weeks ago and he has a free download of "My Name Is Trouble" up today. Hear more on their MySpace site. Let me know what you think.
Of course, comparisons to the Killers and performers like The Cure and Morrisey that are clearly huge influences on many young artists are to be expected (The Killers are great and all, but it's not possible that every new band to make a break is derivative of their sound - not even The Beatles had that kind of influence). Of such comparisons, Nightmare Of You frontman Brandon Reilly tells Arjan, "Synths, dancing, eyeliner, borderline faggotry. Beatles? Smiths? Nirvana? Bob Dylan? Its all been done. All I claim to do is write great songs. I'm not trying to reinvent any wheels ..."
Of comparisons to Morrissey he says, "We are two completely different people with different views. For example, I have a sex drive." (lol)
On another note, notice that here you have an up-and-coming band working directly with journalist/blogger to get their music to new audiences. This is grass-roots, guerilla marketing at it's finest - a trend to watch for sure.
